Tripods relieve the photographer in many ways, because the body and lenses may weigh a lot. Also, hand-held photography is only possible up to certain lighting conditions. Exception: the smartphone stick is intended for spontaneous shots where the cell phone can be fixed - for selfies, for example. Otherwise, these tools are needed for many purposes.
