The world's first 1:1.8 fisheye Lens
Whether under the surface of the sea or under the night sky - the new M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 8 mm Fisheye 1:1.8 PRO is unique and impresses with creative wide-angle shots with a unique dynamic and abstract look. Unique because it is currently the fastest fisheye in the world. The extra large aperture ensures first-class optical performance under all conditions, especially in low light. A close focusing distance of just 2.5 cm and the maximum 0.2x magnification make this Lens the perfect choice for nature photographers with a passion for unconventional perspectives and breathtaking bokehs. The Fisheye PRO is also ideal for shooting action-packed sports scenes, panoramas, crowds, interiors or architecture. Compared to equivalent DSLR lenses in particular, it is extremely compact and lightweight, and the workmanship is first-class. In initial preliminary tests, professional photographers particularly praised the sharpness performance at both ends of the aperture scale.
For underwater photographers, a new underwater lens port, the PPO-EP02, is available to match the fisheye lens - compatible with the PT-EP11 (E-M1) and PT-EP8 (E-M5) underwater housings.
The first Lens in this series - the powerful M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-40 mm 1:2.8 PRO - set new standards with its outstanding optical performance, solid mechanical build quality and excellent focus control. In addition, despite the constant aperture of 1:2.8, it is very compact over the entire focal length range of 12-40 mm.
This success was continued with the first telephoto zoom M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150 mm 1:2.8 PRO. It is also significantly more compact and lighter than typical APS-C or full-frame Lens with comparable features and performance. The unrivaled DUAL-VCM focusing system makes this PRO Lens another world record holder. This is because it is the first system in which two high-quality lens elements are driven by dual linear motors. This makes it possible to work quickly and quietly. Particularly practical when shooting camera-shy or fast-moving subjects.
