  • More exclusive processing quality

The mantona Fortress series is ideal for amateur and professional photographers with special demands on their equipment and offers the highest level of features, load capacity, feel, processing quality and functionality at an attractive price.

Your high-performance partner for photo and video equipment of all kinds
The ball heads in the mantona Fortress series are the ideal partner for your photo and video equipment. Whether telephoto lens, spotting scope, digital camera, (digital) SLR camera, mirrorless DSLM camera or even camcorders and heavy video cameras - this ball head can be used for a wide range of applications. The accuracy of fit and precision of these ball heads allows precise and millimeter-accurate work with both heavy and light equipment such as action cams or smartphones (separate mount required).

Solid and first-class mechanical base for a secure hold
The maximum load capacity of 15 kg for the Fortress 40 model requires a solid and high-quality base. The body of the Fortress series is therefore made of high-strength, CNC-milled aluminum. Minimal manufacturing tolerances and high-quality components ensure the exceptionally high load capacity and impressive ease of movement of this ball head.

The black anodized body has an excellent surface coating. This coating ensures an extremely scratch-resistant surface and an attractive appearance. The 40 mm ball of the Fortress 40 is cleanly damped and extremely precisely manufactured. In combination with the first-class manufactured body and the integrated mechanism, it ensures the very high holding power of this ball head. The annoying sagging of the ball head after locking is thus reduced to a minimum.

Despite the elaborate design, this ball head weighs just 443 g including the quick-release plate, making it a real lightweight in its class.

First-class control element with impressive functionality and feel
The Fortress ball head has a total of 3 control buttons. A rubber coating on the main locking knob ensures a pleasant feel and optimum power transmission. This elementary control element for a ball head has a calibration ring and a friction travel control screw. With this control knob, the mantona Fortress series not only allows you to adjust the resistance and locking of the installed ball, but also, as a special feature, to select a short or long adjustment travel for locking the ball head.

The friction travel can be easily and effectively adjusted to the weight of your equipment or your individual preferences using your thumb or the enclosed tool. A long adjustment range ensures particularly sensitive operation. For heavy equipment or particularly fast handling, the friction travel can be reduced or almost completely blocked. This effectively prevents unintentional loosening or tilting of the mounted equipment under high loads.

The two control knobs for the quick-release plate clamp and the panorama function are made of aluminum and ensure optimum operability and an attractive appearance.

Arca Swiss compatible quick-release plate in XL format and with scaling
This ball head has a precisely manufactured and Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release plate. As the Fortress series is designed for particularly high load capacities, great importance was also attached to a particularly high-quality solution for the quick-release plate. With its dimensions of 60 x 44 x 11 mm, the quick-release plate of the mantona Fortress 40 ball head offers a particularly large contact surface. Thanks to the wide contact surface, even large and heavy attachments can be securely attached.

The quick-release plate is equipped with anti-slip rubbers and anti-drop pins. This prevents unintentional release from the ball head. The built-in 1/4 inch camera fastening screw can be individually positioned using 3 holes and can also be screwed in without additional tools using the D-ring on the back.

Perfect adjustment of your recording device on the tripod is particularly important for successful panoramic photos and video recordings. An additional scale is attached to the quick-release plate of the Fortress ball heads to ensure perfect alignment of your equipment. In conjunction with the center marking on the quick-release plate clamp, this makes it child's play to adjust the ball head quickly and with millimeter precision.

A total of 3 spirit levels on this ball head make it easier for you to level the ball head. Two spirit levels offset by 90 degrees are integrated in the quick-release plate mount and there is a further circular spirit level in the locking screw of the quick-release plate clamp for alignment in landscape format.

Panoramic panning becomes a pleasure
The extremely solid ball head mount with the included panoramic scale ensures successful panoramic panning. A separate friction and locking knob ensures optimum and quick adjustment of the resistance for panoramic panning. In combination with the high-quality mechanics and the clean damping, panoramic panning becomes a pleasure.

The ball head has a 3/8 inch threaded hole on the underside for mounting on tripods or sliders. A 3/8 to 1/4 inch thread adapter is also included in the scope of delivery and also allows mounting on this connection format.

Full scope of delivery
The mantona Fortress series comes with a transport and storage bag, a 3/8 to 1/4 inch thread adapter and a tool set as standard.
