Billingham Airline Stowaway
Translated, "stowaway" actually means "stowaway". What might Billingham have been thinking when naming this series of bags? It doesn't matter, even if it takes a good deal of imagination to associate small photo and all-purpose bags with this term. The Stowaway series consists of three bags - Compact, Pola and Airline - which differ only in their dimensions. They are completely identical in terms of design, number and arrangement of the main compartment and the four side compartments. Many a photographer treats them as an insider tip for traveling. The three bags in the Billingham Stowaway series are ideal if you only need a small camera, a few accessories and a few personal items to hand at all times. And as small as they are, they can hold a surprising amount!

Uniform architecture of all three Billingham Stowaway models
Front flap with small zippered compartment, useful for storing memory cards, small tickets or a few coins for the parking meter. The front flap can be easily opened by pulling a leather strap from the brass stop bolt. Protected underneath is a flat compartment, suitable for tickets or other flat items, for example. Behind this is another flat compartment (almost the full height and width of the bag) with a zipper on the side. Good for small camera accessories, such as lens hoods, lens cleaning products, batteries, etc.

Then comes the main compartment, which can be opened from the top with a two-way zipper. This extends a good distance downwards on both sides of the bag. The fully open zipper allows unobstructed access to the main compartment. Surprisingly, not only a small camera - just a Leica M model, for example - often fits in here, but also a small second lens, a clip-on flash or other accessories. On the back of the bag there is another open compartment similar to the one under the front flap. It is openly accessible, making it very practical for holding a pocket book, maps or similar items.

The Airline Stowaway measures approx. 180 x 80 x 250 mm on the outside, approx. 150 x 65 x 240 mm on the inside (all compartments together), has a volume of approx. 2.25 l and weighs approx. 520 g. Each of the three Stowaway models has an approx. 25 mm wide shoulder strap made of strong fabric with leather fastening loops. It is adjustable in length from approx. 1,000 to approx. 1,750 mm. As it is detachable, the bags can also be worn on a belt. They have leather loops on the back for this purpose.
